Walk and Talk Therapy

Below are some links to articles regarding the practice of walking or other exercise in combination with psychotherapy. This is another way to practice psychotherapy, taking part of each session outside the traditional four walls of an office. It is not for everyone, but for some, I have found it to be invaluable. I am a  believer in the benefits of exercise and its effects on brain chemistry, mood enhancement, and overall health. Please check out the below articles to find out more about this practice.

Could Walk and Talk Therapy be for you?

Please feel free to contact me regarding more information about how this form of therapy can work for you. Many studies have linked exercise with a decrease in depression and anxiety, as well as increased productivity. Sometimes exercise, such as walking, can help clients access feelings and support positive changes in behavioral patterns, especially when used in conjunction with traditional talk therapy.

“There is vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. If you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not yours to determine how good it is; nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep the channel open.” - Martha Graham
