Yoga & Somatic Practices for Trauma Relief 6-Week On-Line Training
Join us 2/11-3/4/21 (1-1.5 hrs ea week online)
with Hannah Caratti, LMFT, E-RYT 500 (7 CE credits for Yoga Alliance teachers)
Trauma-informed yoga is a broad term that describes movements, breathing practices and relaxation that help to relieve physical and emotional symptoms caused by trauma.
It is based on the growing understanding that trauma takes a heavy toll on the body, and the nervous system in particular.
This practice focuses on helping individuals move out of the “fight or flight” response (sympathetic nervous system) into the “rest and digest” mode (parasympathetic nervous system). We will spend more time than we usually do on going deeper into the self-healing practice of Japanese acupressure, and we will have longer sessions of iRest/Yoga Nidra (guided relaxation, meditation/visualization) and other healing practices.
The training is open to Yoga Teachers, Healthcare Professionals, and anyone interested in learning body-oriented skills for soothing the nervous system and relieving PTSD, anxiety or stress.
