Yoga for Trauma Relief 6-Week On-Line Training starts Sunday 3/5/23 at 10-10:45am Pacific Time and/or Monday 3/6 at 5:15pm Pacific Time
Participants can choose to join the Sunday 10-10:45am Pacific Time Group OR the Monday 5:15-6pm Pacific Time Group. If you are busy this weekend, you could start Sunday 3/12 or Monday 3/13 and continue for 6 weeks (we will have a couple weeks of ‘make-up’ classes).
March/April 2023 (45 mins each week on Mondays 5:15-6pm Pacific Time/8:15-9pm Eastern Time online OR Sundays at 10am Pacific Time/1pm Eastern Time with Hannah Caratti, LMFT, E-RYT 500.
Trauma-informed yoga is a broad term that describes movements, breathing practices and relaxation that help to relieve physical and emotional symptoms caused by trauma. It is based on the growing understanding that trauma takes a heavy toll on the body, and the nervous system in particular.
This practice focuses on helping individuals move out of the “fight or flight” response (sympathetic nervous system) into the “rest and digest” mode (parasympathetic nervous system). We will spend more time than we usually do on going deeper into the self-healing practice of Japanese acupressure, and we will have longer sessions of iRest/Yoga Nidra (guided relaxation, meditation/visualization) and other healing practices.
The training is open to Clients, Therapists, Healthcare Professionals, and anyone interested in learning body-oriented skills for soothing the nervous system and relieving PTSD, anxiety or stress.Click here for details to learn more about what these practices include!
Our group session each week will be an opportunity for Hannah to share information and practices of Trauma-Informed Yoga. You are welcome to contact Hannah with your questions prior to our weekly meeting that can be addressed at our group meeting. Handouts will be sent by email. The registration fee covers the weekly group meeting on zoom plus handouts that will be emailed to participants.
To register for the Sunday or Monday groups that start 3/5/23 and 3/6/23 (or the following week), please submit your payment of $100. prior to your start date (including your name and email address) on the Payment page of www.counselingyogameditation.
As part of your training, you are also welcome (but not required) to attend one or two extra sessions at 10am PST/1pm EST on Sundays 10am Pacific or Mondays 5:15pm Pacific or our 35 minute session on Thursdays 5:15-5:50pm Pacific Time.
